An n8n workflow that chats with website visitors, explains my services, collects their details, saves each lead and emails me straight away.
The problem
Most visitors leave a portfolio without getting in touch, and a contact form only works if someone already knows what to ask. I wanted every visitor to be able to ask questions at any hour, and every serious enquiry to reach me within seconds with the details I need.
My role
Designed and built the whole workflow in n8n: the AI agent, its instructions, memory, lead storage and email alerts.
Approach
- A chat trigger receives each message from the website's chat window.
- An AI agent, running on Google Gemini, answers questions about my services and asks the right follow-up questions: business, service needed, budget and goal.
- Chat memory keeps each conversation in context, so visitors never repeat themselves.
- When the visitor shares their details, the agent saves the lead to a table and gives it a score (hot, warm or cold).
- The same step sends me an email alert with the lead's name, contact, business, budget and goal, so I can reply fast.

Results
Results Tested end to end: a test conversation was saved as a lead and the email alert arrived. Live on this site; real results will follow once visitors start using it.
